Puppies Arrived

Thank you again for trusting us and our line of phenomenal Water Dogs.  Our puppies arrived and this litter is pre-sold.

Gallery of pictures below is now of our November 2023 litter.

Black Male: Wavy

He was our first born and the only one to arrive before midnight on November 9.  He came out head first and it took mom two more pushes to get him out.  He has a half white collar on a beautiful black coat.  As he grows and learns, it’s so fun to watch his inquisitive nature. He’s still smaller than the other four, but not by much. He is inquisitive, and he loves to greet me when I walk into the den. He has always been a great little feeder, and very gentle with the bottle and his mom.

Brown Female:  Wavy

She is mostly brown with a white belly and a white star on the back of her neck.  She is already showing determination and survival instincts as she goes right for her mom's belly or my bottle of goat milk.  She is very outgoing and had a couple of days where she was quite quite vocal, but hasn’t been so recently. She will let you know when she is hungry or wants out to be held or played with. As I write this, I am watching her chewing on the side of her new feeding dish and then licking up some milk and then chewing on the dish again, so I know those teeth are hurting her poorgums.

Black and White Female:  Wavy

She is such a beautiful healthy little girl.  She is proving to be a great eater, quiet and always can find a feeding station on her mom.  She is the quietest and gentlest of our group so far. She doesn’t mind getting in and playing at all, but she can also be an observer. She has always been the easiest to bottlefeed and very gentle with the bottle and never fussed over it.  She, like her sister, and her brown and black brother, took wright to the feeding dish. She’s generally the second one to greet me, right behind her black brother.

Brown Male:  Wavy

He is mostly solid brown with white boots and has a white star on the back of his neck.  He is a wavy but his hair looks to be a bit wavier than his siblings.  He is already a mellow fellow and never gets uptight about being picked up to be fed.  Over the past two weeks, he has really come out of his shell. He and his brown sister are my most vocal ones, and they will let me know when they’re hungry and may even let out a bark or two once in a while. They’re not noisy, but it’s interesting watching them Test their vocal cords that they are now discovering.  He is a hardy eater and will lap up milk or take a bottle. His coat is wavier than the rest of them. He’s not a curly coated, but he does have a wavier coat.

Brown and White:  Wavy

He is a beautiful parti brown and white male.  He is a healthy eater and never seems to make a sound.  Just a happy boy.  Thank you he is very playful, but can also be an observer. He’s generally not the first one to the pen to greet me. He’ll let the others do it and then join in. He’s always been a gentle eater just like his black-and-white sister. I’ve never had trouble with him With nursing or with taking a bottle but he didn’t like the food dish when I put it down today. He walked across it and the warm food on his paws scared him and he wouldn’t go near it after that or the next feeding but tonight‘s feeding he let the other start, and then he walked up and started lapping up the food.

Puppy Deposits:

We have tried many ways to make the process equitable and sensible for buyers. Here is how we select puppies:  We take weekly pictures and try to describe them as best as we can as they grow.  First deposit for a puppy gives the owner their first pick of the litter.  Second deposit is second pick and so forth. When you place a deposit, please let me know your preferences. (gender, color)  This allows me to know how many deposits I should accept of each gender.   I  encourage people to read my blogs and look at pictures as they grow.  About 5 weeks of age, puppy choices begin.  You are very welcome to visit our puppies to help with your decision making, or I will send videos of your choices.  We do not allow other dogs in to our home to see if they will be "friends".  I don't know how other dogs will react to my pups, or what viruses they could bring in to our home, off their feet, muzzles or if they are immunized.   The risk is too great for our puppies.

We do not wait until pick up to choose, as owners purchase flights far ahead and want to know if what they desire, will be available.  When the process begins, you will see "Reserved" behind a puppies name, when it has been chosen.  Quite often, what we would consider pick of the litter has been the last, or nearly last choice.  People choose their picks based on many different reasons.   If this process does not work for you, I would be happy to refer excellent breeders to you.

Please do not place a deposit unless you are confident this is the best decision for you and your family.  We MAY NOT give refunds if you change your mind, as we stop advertising the pup, turn down potential families and hold the puppy for you.  If you change your mind, we will keep your good faith deposit, as we have acted completely in good faith and trusted your decision.  We only return your deposit, if we do not have the gender that you desire.  If we don't have the color that you desire, then please don't place a deposit with us, as I won't know until 5 weeks or later what colors we have remaining after choices.

All of our dogs are wavy coated, with varying degrees of waviness.  Here is a little bit about the coloring: Brown is a recessive gene and rarer than black.  Since black is dominant, a black and brown mating pair would have all black pups unless the black coated parent was a hybrid (had one brown parent and one black).  Then, some of the pups would be brown.  Two brown parents produce all brown pups.  Two white parents produce primarily white puppies, but with LOTS of color. (parti coloration)  We love seeing out newborns as their markings are beautiful.

The joy with "parti" pups is that they are all unique, completely devoid of the 'typical markings' that you see in PWDs.  All our brown  and black pups have white on them and most have beautiful white collars, muzzles and paws, for easy nail trimming.  Some have more solid brown or black and others have more white markings.

Our pups come with as much as you can take on the plane: transition food, family scented toys, snacks, chews, piddle pads, their paperwork, and parent DNA-pedigree-genetic testing.  A $500 deposit will hold a pup until pick-up.  Our puppies are sold cash only, as there are a few that would like a pup for free.   We don't ship, pick up is required.  All of our puppies are sold with a spay/neuter contract, to be completed after 24 months of age preferably.
