Our Eyes are Opened

Well, I finally have something to write about, other than eating and sleeping.  All of the pups have their eyes opened in various stages.  They are still getting used to focusing and trying to see what is out there, so their little "sea legs" often give out on them or they bump in to a sibling.  From the first week, they were wagging their little tails while they nursed, but now, they break out in to a full concerto, with various levels of whines, groans, grunts and enthusiastic squeals.  The...

A Week Old

I can hardly believe they are a week old now.  Time just flies and they are growing fast.  With 12 pups and 10 teats, the buffet mom provides was not enough for our little munchkins, so we top all of them off with goat milk after a good feeding. All are healthy and thriving.  They seem to have little radar detectors and can find mom across the whelping box easily.  Their eyes will begin to open in the next four days and they are quite mobile and can scoot in any direction if they smell milk. ...

We Have Arrived!

We have a litter of brown and white puppies.  They are beautiful and came in to this world on Wednesday.  Twelve puppies arrived in five and a half hours.  Mother and babies are doing extremely well.  We have four females and eight males.  The puppy pictures on the right are from our previous litter out of another bitch and I will update them as soon as I can categorize the pictures.
