And Then There Were Five Sunday

Posted by Brenda Hedden on Tuesday, September 20, 2016,
Our puppies are leaving the fold and it is hitting me hard this time.  They were such a great litter of pups.  Great chemistry between them.  Very loving and they all got along so well.  Although turning eight weeks brings with it fast speeds around our home, shredded piddle pads and more, they were a quite litter.  When I come down the stairs each morning at 6:45, they run to greet me, but no yelping or whining like all my other litters, just loving eyes and jumping at the xpen to see me.  I...

Please send me pick up information

Posted by Brenda Hedden on Monday, September 12, 2016,
Please send me your pickup date, and if you are flying in, I need your address, phone number and airlines for the USDA vet/health certificates on Tuesday morning.  Thank you.  I have some information from some of you, but it is buried in layers of emails, so a quick email is great for me.

I have had great fun with the pups all weekend.  They have such personality now.  They are still fairly quiet, but every once in awhile, I hear a bark, playful growl, and even trying to talk like their daddy....

7 1/2 Weeks Old

Posted by Brenda Hedden on Saturday, September 10, 2016,
It is so hard to believe that the pups are already 7 1/2 weeks old.  They have been such a joy to raise.  They are quiet, playful and there is not one that is dominant or submissive.  What a perfect litter of very well balanced puppies.  Generally our pups will whine and bark when they see us in the morning, but this litter runs to greet us with very little noise.  We don't have one that is loud, that is a role model for the others, so it is such a joy.

On the other hand, they have learned to ...

Growing Like Weeds

Posted by Brenda Hedden on Tuesday, September 6, 2016,
They are growing up so fast.  My husband, daughter and I are continuously saying that we have not seen a litter like this one.  They are calmer and quieter.  They don't whine and bark for food.....EVER.  They are quiet when they see us in the morning, but greet us and want to play. They just are not as vocal and appear much calmer.  That is fine with me.....
All are doing well.  I have gotten reluctant to say much about them specifically any more, as most of you cannot see them and every word ...

Wonderful Pups

Posted by Brenda Hedden on Friday, August 26, 2016,
There are always one or two in every litter, that are off playing with something else when I crawl in the pen.  Not this litter.  All 11 drop what they are doing and run to me to play.  I don't recall a litter that 100% of the time, gave me 100% of their attention.  These are all real love bugs, look me right in the eyes, lick my face and are never startled by noises in the house.  What a great, balanced litter of pups.  I so wish I could keep them all.  They don't hurt one another.....yet, a...

Fun Night

Posted by Brenda Hedden on Wednesday, August 24, 2016,
The pups are now very social.  I came home from work and my husband and daughter had been playing with them.  I crawled in the pen to change their bedding and immediately, my skirt went in many different directions.  They love my long skirts and play tug o war with me.  I managed to clean up their pen, while entertaining them simultaneously.  I just love them.

They now all play with the stuffed animals that we have in their pen.  Some sleep on them and some sleep on each other.  They now have ...

We Have Moved

Posted by Brenda Hedden on Tuesday, August 23, 2016,
The pups have relocated from an upstairs den to our main level.  We no longer can sneak by as when they see us they just want to play and play.  What a life, I just love them.  It took them about an hour to settle in to their new home and they were quick to learn where to eliminate and where to sleep.  Amazing how smart a four week old puppy is.

This is the first litter that their white faces have turned pink when they nurse.  It is an enzyme in saliva, but I have never had this happen with pu...

Walking, Talking and Playing

Posted by Brenda Hedden on Sunday, August 14, 2016,
The pups are now three and a half weeks old.  They are walking very well, playing for about a half hour after eating and love interacting with each other.  They have been licking mouths of other pups for about a week, but now are beginning to open their mouths to play with each other.  I saw one trying to grab the tail of another yesterday.

They now potty very well on their own and know enough to go to one side of their whelping box.  Next weekend, we will move them from the den to the run on ...

We Are Walking

Posted by Brenda Hedden on Thursday, August 11, 2016,
All pups are now up and exploring their whelping box.  They have sailor legs but can get around.  They still primarily eat and sleep, but now spend about 5-10 minutes after a feeding, interacting with each other.  They lick the milk off of each others face, run in to one another, climb all over mom and sometimes do somersaults down her abdomen.

Their ears have dropped so they don't look like little bats any longer.  Their eyes are wide open and focused and today  noticed them tracking me with ...

Eyes Wide Open

Posted by Brenda Hedden on Saturday, August 6, 2016,
The pups eyes are now wide open.  Some still have a slight foggy look as they start to interpret what everything they have been smelling for two weeks, looks like.  They just stare at me after a feeding.  I think they are too full to move much, so they just lay in my hand and look me in the eyes.  I often wonder what they are thinking and wish they could understand me, so they know how much they are loved.

They still "swim" around the  whelping area and can move quite effectively.  Some are no...

We are two weeks old

Posted by Brenda Hedden on Wednesday, August 3, 2016,
Now that the puppies are two weeks old there are just a few little stories that I can share.  Pink remains my largest of the four females. She's just been wanting to snuggle with mom the last couple of days and not bottlefeed. Yellow is a great little nurser and a great bottle feeder  as is purple. Purple for her size has extremely strong back legs and even though she can't walk yet she does a great job standing on her back legs. Lime is slightly larger than yellow and purple and slightly sm...
