Updates on Puppy Homes

April 24, 2015
Pups have been leaving nearly faster than I can keep up with.  Last week, Hershey left on Monday to a local family that has had a PWD in the past.  Then on Thursday, Curacao flew to Texas. Friday, Layla flew to Alabama.  Saturday, Huckleberry left for Colorado and Sunday, Sriracho and Ziggy Amar flew to Minnesota.  Monday Candy left to live in the SL Valley and then yesterday, Comet (Snow) and Cobalt flew the friendly skies to California and Colorado.  The house is getting very quiet with just a few precious puppies remaining.  I am hearing wonderful things about their transitions:
WIlly (Curacao):  "Slept like a baby last night....he is doing so good on his potty training.  He plays and plays and when we go outside he potties like a pro!.  No accidents, Wahoo!"
Trixie (Candy): " She is doing great.  The first night she went to bed and didn't make a single peep.......she loves to go in the backyard and play chase with us and she is getting the hang of playing frisbee."
Sriracho: "We love him and enjoy him a million times a million.  He is such a good puppy.  A very good eater..rides extremely well in the truck or car...and is basically housebroken.  I don't even put down piddle pads any more."
Ziggy:  "Ziggy is absolutely wonderful.  He is adjusting well to life in Minnesota......We love Ziggy's personality.  He is so laid back and such an affectionate puppy."
Chaco (Sky): "Well, we are totally smitten with this pup.  He's such a sweetheat, so funny and playful and loving, a real cuddler."
Hershey: " I just wanted to drop a line and thank you for Hershey.  He is very sociable, affectionate and smart.  He has already mastered sit, stand, down, come and heael and is totally housebroken.  He is extremely willing to please and is constantly looking up at us as if to say 'what now boss'.  We have decided to keep the name you gave him as Walking Food Disposal Unit would be too long a name.  He's a very happy puppy as you can see from the attached pic."

Today Bandit, Ranger, Pumpkin, Rosebud and Chaco Left

April 12, 2015
Chaco was the first to leave this morning.  He did very well on his six hour drive home.  He is now living in southern Utah.  WInnie and Licorice are living right here in Park City to two very happy new PWD owners.  Rosebud left to a new family this evening who has not had a dog and looking forward to a low allergy puppy.  Pumpkin is in a hotel room with his owner this evening and flying to Illinois tomorrow.  They are just going so quickly.

The pen now seems even larger and I am down to two...

Apple and Knox

April 12, 2015
Apple and Know left yesterday, together.  Friends purchased them and they drove from Utah to Colorado and made it home today.  It is so hard to see them go as each one has such love for humans and I am going to miss their licks, nibbles, and yes, even their alligator teeth.

We switched them to chicken again, with green beans, organic rice, chicken broth and some carrots.  They still eat like they are never going to be fed again.  I don't remember this as much as in other litters and they are...

Kiwi and Mango

April 10, 2015
Kiwi and Mango left yesterday for their new homes in Colorado.  Kiwi's owners have written that he did very well last night and just awakened once.  Thank you for putting my mind at ease just knowing how they are transitioning.  As you might be aware, I have a huge place in my heart for these puppies and I like to hear about them.

Friday, Apple and Knox are also leaving for Colorado. Saturday, Sky, Pumpkin, Winnie and Licorice are leaving.  Eight so quickly is going to be a shock and I am happ...

Back From the Vet

April 7, 2015
All of the pups in Jamaica's litter got a quickie bath today and went off to the vet for their first checkup.  All are very healthy and did well with the exam and immunizations. Three of them got car sick during the ride, poor things.  They all vary in weight, as Jamaica tied at least five times with Jack, so they were all stages of gestation at birth, I am sure.  Whereas LuLu's litter is all the same size.

They are doing well, but need a larger pen, so we are extending it further toward our l...

My Little Pooh Bears

April 4, 2015
Winnie the Pooh is so cute and doesn't have anything to do with pooh, but oh my, do mine.  With 22 little ones, pooh is a part of my life and eliminating it is a continuous struggle.  It is amazing at how little they seem to digest even with wholesome food.  My poor washing machine and local land fill. .

Pictures are hard to come by at this stage of their life.  It takes me 35 minutes to wash and dry a single pup, and it takes them 5-10 minutes to undo my 35 minutes.  Many of you ask if it ...

Life In Paradise

March 31, 2015
I have written two posts to this blog and both were lost when my computer restarted automatically. After spending 20 minutes writing down all my thoughts, it is frustrating to lose it, so I walk away....

Life with puppies is very busy.  It changes from feedings every three hours 24/7 to cleaning their pen every three hours.  I do appreciate what the moms do in their early weeks, but now only human moms are caring for pups.  The other moms still want to get in, but the pups are far too large a...

Life Is Good

March 21, 2015
Life in Park City is pretty good for the puppies.  They are all together in a run at the corner of our kitchen and back hall.  Their parents make frequent visits, especially after we feed them, as they want to lick faces for any leftover morsels.  Moms still nurse twice a day and in addition, we feed pups goat milk mixed with baby cereal and blended food.

They are playing well together, although some have not learned what is "too hard" with their new teeth.  They will quickly learn.  Every sin...

We Have Teeth

March 14, 2015
Jamaica's litter are breaking their first teeth, their canines. Some have two and some have four....mom is not so excited about nursing any longer.  Lulu's litter have distinct bumps in their gums, but I have not felt teeth just yet.  They are well on their way though.  It's so fun to watch them come in and then when you pick them up, you will wish they didn't have so many.  :)  All of Jamaica's have mastered lapping milk, but LuLu's still prefer the bottle if mom doesn't have enough milk.  W...

Our Younger Pups

March 8, 2015
Most of them now have their eyes opened.  They are all hearty and the same size, as this was a result of one tie, so all were fertilized at about the same time.  Their ears are not quite opened yet, which makes it wonderful to sneak in to get something I forgot in the den.

My others area week older and I just tried to sneak in, but as quiet as I seem to be, the awakening is like a flash mob dance.  It begins at one end and works it way to the other until all are awake and whining for food.  ...
